This is part of the reason they make boards in the desert I guess, and Korua has a thicker wood core, so that wouldn't help. Noserider has a slight v-shape till the back binding, then flat, but perfectly symmetrical, and I can't really feel any drawbacks. Noserider Evo is pretty much flat, but actually a slight concave under the channel. Haven't noticed it.

OK, now I'm convinced Lars lurks here, lol.

We were JUST talking about this.

He doesn't, but yeah the video topic timing is a funny coincidence. I was talking to him about this korua thing while he happened to be working on it, hence that comment on the "rumor"

The Mervin setback thing was interesting, and explains why I've always felt like their directional boards (with bigger difference between nose/tail kick) feel like I needed to set them back to be balanced - especially the rocket I had. Listing setback based on total board length is dumb, but be a lot of people think that way

I also wonder how these spec-checks would turn out between old and new TF, for example. Both 31mm koruas I've had were clearly not as natural to grip & hold through a carve as the 18mm TF is. Just the taper? Or is there more to the setback/sidecut relationship on those ones? He writes about that in a comment reply

This video had me looking at my 2016 Flight Attendant, I rode it a bunch 22/23 season and loved it but not so much last season as I just wasn’t feeling it. I was running a different set of bindings and set up my stance differently, it has a 22" reference stance and I run 21.25 -21.5 and the first year I had it set up equally inside the reference stance the same way that Lars described setting up stance in the video.

Laying it flat I notice the rear/heelside contact sits 2mm off the table, it’s fine when weighted. Does this mean it is warped and done?

I'd question the table first. Check it in different positions, and on other surfaces

I've checked it on the other coffee table too, although I'd question all the period correct tables in my house ;)

Interesting timing - received a very warped Taka 61 last year. Board had a noticeable rock (side to side) and basically zero edge contact anywhere.

I had a warped flight attendant too. Took it to a shop and they just said, yeah it's common with Burton's.
it rode fine but I quickly sold it.
