Stoked to hear it because I went ahead and bought it. Should be here this week and I'll post some pics when it shows up. Supposedly only has a couple days on it and looked brand new in the pics... fingers crossed.

Just showed up and she's nearly mint :o. Not even a single chip on the topsheet, and the base still has its factory structure in almost perfect shape minus one faint scratch. Alllllmost a wall hanger but I wanna shred it.

Oh, wow. She's a beauty, still. Glad it turned out as good as advertised, maybe even better 👊🏻.

So maybe without too big of a thread derailment about the merits/characteristics/ride of more vs less camber, are mothership boards all pressed kinda flat? Or do they flatten quickly after a few days riding? I've got last year's DOA 153W here that doesn't seem to have much riding time on it based on condition, and if you can tell from the crappy pic it's not exactly a very cambered board. Say 2mm max. The 2019 Mercury 157 in my basement is similar, super low camber (granted it's older and has way more riding on it) but I seem to remember the same with a nearly new 2020 Mercury 155, it was super noticeable compared to a 2019 Salomon Assassin 156. The Salomon had noticeably more camber, even though it was an easier flexing board by any metric.

If I snag a new Kazu online, will it show up and be nearly flat? I'll have to start a separate thread about whether or not that matters...

Lol, I noticed the same thing a few weeks back. No idea how much it actually matters, except to say the boards I've liked the most recently in turn-feeling definitely trend heavier camber (at least 4-5 mm, probably more like 7 on Koruas).

Bah, I skimmed the thread looking for this topic before posting, I must have skimmed too quickly though, thanks kimchi. Yeah the DOA definitely doesn't feel lifeless or anything, I guess I'm just going through a mental exercise of what it would feel like to ride the same shape but with more camber.

So I wonder if this flatness/low camber relates to the fact that Mothership boards don't seem to have sections with the cores profiled thinner. Do you need more camber to deal with that increased flex on the boards that have that? I'm think Squeezebox and Popster etc.

I realize this doesn't matter. I just think too much about shit that doesn't matter.

Shape looks real promising, graphic is always sick on that board, and I've been hyped on Capita since listening to Blue Montgomery's Bomb Hole episode (probably my all-time favorite).
I basically just had this same experience. I hadn't bought a new board in several years, and got new board fever. Listened to this episode on the drive up to Mammoth earlier in the week and thought it was super compelling, in a lot of ways. Was kind of torn between a BSOD and Mercury, but threw down on a BSOD 156 and set of metallic grey Atlas this morning.

Changed my order before it shipped. Stoked, but it's going to sit for a couple weeks before it sees snow.
