I had a pair of the Burton x Red wing rovers all leather. To me it is kind of pointless to make a leather snowboard boot like Burton has in the past.
It is just thin leather over a plastic shell. They are heavier and the pair I had, the sole started to separate from the leather at the toe and heel. Is there any company that makes a true leather boot without the plastic shell? Not a snow surf boot.

My information is limited at best and I’ve only seen a few different images of things to come, which is why I don’t really feel comfortable sharing what I know. Apart from innovations in Step-On, Burton’s been in need of a shot in the arm to switch up how they approach their products year after year. Don’t be surprised to see new boot models and new tech in how liners and shells interface (check Sollors’ Step-On EST video), multiple graphic offerings for single board models and the slow return to lacquered topsheets, amongst other things. I was also told that some cool partnerships are also in the works, but wasn’t told who with. And obviously, expect prices to go ever higher.

It’s a logical movement
B had been stuck with his boards for years and only focused on step on

And along the way they could manufacture less in China and more in Europe and USA. If Capita can do it with its brilliant mothership, they can to..
C2 & purepop/vans infuse/skate tech/ AK …

there are, no bad snow

I hope so, the eco topsheets are trash.

Also, a boot and binding refresh would be sweet. Their binding designs are at least a decade old and their boots could be modernized to have less stitching and more articulated cuffs.

The articulating shell is such a great feature for the longevity of a shell, but limits the boot’s response. I think B might actually address this with how they end up replacing the Tuff Cuff.

Quad boa: One for closing the backgate, one for locking down the heel, two for tightening the independent lacing zones.
