The boot thread
Re: The boot thread
So many good options. It’s hard for me now as the snow store I worked in closed- so have to buy online try and send back if they don’t work. The Orton, acid and Nideckers could be worth a look too. Anyone tried ride 92’s or fuse?

Re: The boot thread
As always, the big issue for me is serious lack of ability to try on. No k2, ride, salomon, nidecker, bataleon... I think all we have in town is Burton, Vans, DC, and maybe Rome. B works but I'm tired of ions and still have two pairs with life in them, Vans/Rome don't fit me well, and I've already been running the DC that works for me. There wasn't much to try on when I was up north recently, unfortunately
woe is me
If there's a decent way to return without incurring too much cost, I'd be stoked to try the Orton. Someone find me last year's 9!
I tried a pair of Masis plus years ago and they fit well, but didn't quite work for me.

Re: The boot thread
i looked at the new bataleon boots but damn 459€ for pair and sizes end in us 7 and no womens high end boot with laces.eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 6:23 pmI can hit you with my quarterly ExpertVoice K2 code, check your DMs.Spenser wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 4:42 pm Noticed that. A lot of the transcend is foam too, but the Altai looks like too much. Seems like the only boot they make with a flex I'd like, though. Oh well.
Orton seems like the ticket if they fit. New one looks rad.... man, wish I could still get k2 proforms... they were so cheap back in the day. Can't seem to find a 9 anywhere in last year's..
What about the new Bataleons? They’re based on the new Nidecker boots. The Acid is 7/10, full vibram sole, and articulated cuff. Check out the new Salomon fits, too. The redesigned Dialogue fits amazing and will be my daily this season. People seem to like the Echo, too.
Re: The boot thread
I have Ride Fuse from 2020 (I think) and they are nearly perfect. I got a newer pair and they changed the ankle Boa from just pulling the tongue to also tightening an inner harness. More plastic anchors inside the shell killed my ankles so I got rid of them. I'm sensitive to these things so they might not even be an issue for you. Otherwise it's a great boot. Urethane tongue and backstay means the flex really doesn't change much over time and the Intuition wrap liner is the best I've ever used. I see a lot of shop guys and reps wearing them if that means anything. I've glued the tongues back on mine in the hope of getting another season out of them. Otherwise K2 Orton and Nitro Team or Venture lace are on my try on list.

Ah thanks!for the info mate! I did try on some fuse and 92’s about 2016/17 and liked them when we were doing the rounds at snow showings. Bugger if the anchors cause issues though.Kevington wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 2:23 amI have Ride Fuse from 2020 (I think) and they are nearly perfect. I made the switch from Vans infuse to the Nitro Team (TLS version) and couldn’t be happier. Boot footprint is smaller , lighter and better fit out of the box day 1.
Only downside to them compared is the durability as after 2 seasons of appx 50 days there are broken down more and show a lot more wear. And they are more of a narrow foot boot.
I also did try on the venture but found the fit /feel not as nice as the team think that was just the difference between there cloud 6 and 9 liners.
I will be taking a look at the klevland team boot at the end of this season when it’s time to upgrade as I think they will at least hold up the stiffness a bit longer with the added power strap and tongue stiffener. Those new K2 Ortons do look good too though.

I didn't try on the Orton, but the K2 Evasion was horribly uncomfortable. My ankle felt like it was under weird pressure from the power strap and had a general brick feel.

Re: The boot thread
If they don't work out, try the new Salomon Dialogue. They have an incredibly roomy toebox and come in a lace version with the heel boa like the Overdraft.
