The boot thread
Re: The boot thread
if you don't mind that they're bulky and a little heavy - verse are really solid boots. I had the infuse the year prior - verse has a similar fit but just better all around. easier to put on/off and easier to dial in fit.
Re: The boot thread
Power to anyone who’s into the Infuse, but I just found that there was too much shit going on with that boot.
a bit of taper, a lot of camber

Re: The boot thread
I felt the same. Lacing it up was a pain in the ass. Liner lock, laces, boa, power strap, zip powder skirt. Plus, it’s a heavy bulky boot.
I think this year I’m finally going to switch off the Ride Fuse and venture either into Nitros lace up boot - team or maybe Bfox’s or go double boa into the Nidecker Kita.
Re: The boot thread
I’m jumping on the boot train again.. my B SLX’s are good but getting a bit old and soft now. I tried a mates 32 tm2 XLT Diggers which were comfy but maybe a bit small in a 9- could work with some heat molding and a toe cap. I want to try some K2 Holgate or Maysis and maybe the DC transcend.

It seems like the Infuse Snowsurf is a little less bulky.. Have to check it in-store thoninja_nate wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 12:53 pmI felt the same. Lacing it up was a pain in the ass. Liner lock, laces, boa, power strap, zip powder skirt. Plus, it’s a heavy bulky boot.

Re: The boot thread
I love this boot. It does have a few caveats though. some good some bad.
+
It fully breaks in after 3 full days of riding.
The liners are super, super plush and comfy, they take boot fitting extremely well.
Boot gaiter is bomb.
Once broken in, they don't really change at all after that.

They aren't that stiff, I'd say a 5-6 in all reality. This is subjective as to whether it's a negative trait, I personally love the flex, but they aren't as stiff as advertised.

I'm ready to try something new too, although transcends have been good to me with tongue stiffeners.
K2 Orton, but also looking at nidecker. Can't remember all the details shared in this thread... how stiff is the kita actually? And what's up with the Altai? Seem to remember someone had issues with one of them?

Re: The boot thread
The Altai’s sole only has rubber on the toes, the rest of the sole is just foam so they won’t last and will be slippery.Spenser wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 2:48 pm I'm ready to try something new too, although transcends have been good to me with tongue stiffeners.

The Kita looks rad, haven’t tried it yet but I typically want boots with articulated cuffs which it doesn’t have.

Re: The boot thread
Noticed that. A lot of the transcend is foam too, but the Altai looks like too much. Seems like the only boot they make with a flex I'd like, though. Oh well.
Orton seems like the ticket if they fit. New one looks rad.... man, wish I could still get k2 proforms... they were so cheap back in the day. Can't seem to find a 9 anywhere in last year's..

What about the new Bataleons? They’re based on the new Nidecker boots. The Acid is 7/10, full vibram sole, and articulated cuff. Check out the new Salomon fits, too. The redesigned Dialogue fits amazing and will be my daily this season. People seem to like the Echo, too.
