yep I just noticed no more outerwear from Dakine. I have some goretex 3L dakine bibs from two seasons ago that are pretty good

I use a lunchbox from the thrift. Fits 6 pair and has a hard inner shell for protection. Works better than the special goggle cases I used prior and doesn't advertise the precious irreplaceable contents.

their outerwear program never seemed like it was fully there. didn't they just sign Red when Quik dropped him right before X Games & Natty Select last year?

Seemed like it had potential with Peter Line, but then he left. They had some good fits and several Gore-Tex pieces. It's like they moved to LA and shifted all focus to school backpacks.

i missed news about the move. Dakine came from surfing, so i don’t the move itself as indicative of much.

found this reddit post with a pretty insightful top response, though:

omg...I would upgrade so fast if I found a scooby doo one that worked.

huh. I've always associated Dakine with pretty boombproof gear. I've been using my helipack for 15+ years and it's as good as the day I got it. Perhaps, Those days may be over.
