Stranda Snowboards
Re: Stranda Snowboards
Anyone know where I can get a Cheater 170 for half off
Re: Stranda Snowboards
Not gonna happen haha you'd have to have a hookup, or find the one guy who bought, tried, stored/sat on, and is now nonchalant trying to recoup $
Re: Stranda Snowboards
I met Seal back in 2002 when I was working the first tracks breakfast service at the Roundhouse in Whistler and briefly talked snowboarding (Nice dude) and made him an pre-pow egg sandwich. Also just got back from NZ and got to hand flex a few Strandas at Snowboard Workshop in Queenstown. They had a Biru, Bowlrider and Cheater. Would love to try a Bowlrider or tree surfer.

A certain someone reviewed the cheater, and it's a bit funny again. Maybe it's my perspective. Not sure if it's out yet (I'm on the road with spotty cell service). I never want to come off like I care who says what about board xyz, but it's interesting, and I just wish he would show his riding. For the millionth time, I maintain there's a reason he avoids it

Just the write-up, probably shared with stranda before it's released, and it was shared with me
Obviously people don't like boards sometimes, or they're not right for them. Totally cool. I've disliked well-liked decks, and not jived with some I was certain I'd love.. but seeing through his shtick, it felt like "I don't know how to ride this, but I'm not gonna be honest." Maybe I'm just humorously biased regarding the guy
I, for one, can't wait to ride the cheater again

Re: Stranda Snowboards
Yeah, I've tried to find some common ground on his reviews, but I can't, never seen him ride either. Sometimes I agree, sometimes he thinks a soft noodle is the stiffest board ever, and sometimes the other way around. Will be fun to read I guess, because I did like the Cheater, but been a few years since I tried it. Think it was before (what might have been the final version of) the Descender, so depending on when that came out. Think he had just renamed the brand from Maverick.
Re: Stranda Snowboards
Think there's also the factor that he rides sizes sometimes that aren't a good match for him. I guess it's whatever each brand gives him vs being able to choose the more appropriate size for his preference and/or style of riding he's looking to do that time.
But yeah, don't think we'll ever see footy of his riding again. Likely to not risk tainting his "brand" .

Before Maverick it was Cyberpunk if I'm correct.casjcade wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 9:27 pm Yeah, I've tried to find some common ground on his reviews, but I can't, never seen him ride either. Stranda Cyberpunk tho, would be a badass snowbaord.
