I had the first two years versions of the Banked Country and still have the one from last year, which has a blunted tail and a slightly softer flex (imo) from the previous two years. None of the three years versions are plank-like at all, but definitely not "soft" either. If you're looking to do presses or butters, the last iteration with the blunted tail is noticeably better for that kind of stuff, while still being reasonably aggressive.

Not counting dedicated pow boards, the Cadet and Banked Country are both probably my all-time do-everything favorites. If I expected to possibly find myself in scary, sketchy terrain in shitty conditions, for me the Banked Country would get the call every time. It's like a security blanket, but also still fun to ride in normal conditions as well.

The Banked country replaced my Deep Thinker 163 wide, Gonz version. Softer and smoother flex than the DT. For me, the DT wide was more of medium stiff and the BC is dead nuts medium flex and that is perfect for me now.

I like the sound of that. That's basically what I was looking to the Gril Master for. Since we moved and I have to travel to ride now, I need something that can be ready for pretty much anything. What I don't want is some super stiff plank that won't let me play around (park, butters, side hits, etc) if I show up somewhere on vacation and the snow sucks. But if it's nuking it'll let me have a solid powder day, too. I know it's asking a lot of a board, but I these medium flexing freeride boards would be perfect, in theory. I snagged last year's Navigator to try and check all these boxes, but hand flexing it makes me think it might be too soft now.

My only reservation about the Banked Country is that I'd have to get the 160W, which seems like a big board for me.

I have a Flight Attendant, a Deep Thinker and a Skeleton Key that need to be relegated to early/late season status. A Grill Master, HTH or a High Fidelity would all work as replacements….

some people are psyched about the high fidelity, straight chutter was too soft compared to the leader board

I’m a sucker for that pin tail but I think it will likely be stiffer than I like.
