Just got a pair of Longo Infuse on Ebay. “New with defects” for £160. The seller said they just had some dirt from storage but they are also missing a lace hook. I should be able to put a new one on though.

They are my usual 275 mondo (my feet are both 274mm) but are the tightest boots I’ve had in this size. The Vans footbed is really thick so I think when I put my thinner ones in my heel will sit further down and back in the pocket and make more space for my toes. Hopefully.

Vans insoles/footbed are very thick for me too. I don't like them at all. I removed them and put in other ones. I have tried footprint and some 32. Anything is better for me than vans.

That seems counterintuitive. Bringing the heel lower should reduce length - the opposite of the (pretty common) way of adding length through heel wedges.

As mentioned before, that has not been my experience. The original insoles in my Vans Verse were pretty thin and floppy, about the same as the ones from my Burton Ions.

I think in this instance they're putting in an overall thinner insole, which will bring the whole foot down to create more room, not just the heel.

Obviously TGR stuff is usually insufferable but this was a pretty good insight into the boot.

Honestly, the Acids sound awesome but that $500 price tag is nuts.

I dunno, all the same do dads as Burton boots but cheaper was what I was thinking! They are like an Ion and an SLX had a baby.

Fair enough - although still do not see it adding any real length. As mentioned elsewhere, I did the opposite in both respects: Thicker insole to take up volume from below and heel wedges to increase length (and also to take up some more volume).

Cannot really tell from your pictures where you are measuring but those are interesting numbers.

Also, those Vans insoles look very different from mine (Burton ones almost the same). I need to check whether I still have them somewhere.

The Vans ones look kind of half decent to be fair but I’ll still swap them out for my usual Sidas.

They are undoubtedly thick AF, same as Vans skate shoes. The heel pocket in the shell is deepest lower down and my heel bone protrudes relatively high so a lower footbed will align those two things better and should make more space lengthwise in the boot.
