My friend Lars is admittedly not a fan of Burton boards in general.. chalk it up to them having a different approach that doesn't fit his style. He said this last season:

"The gril master was amazing. Not a Burton. Totally different feel. More like Nidecker or k2. Power wagon was crap. Their factory tune is so insanely bad......

For some reason that Gril Master had decent edges. So that made the ride better. But the main thing was the flex and damping. The stiff tips of squeeze box were much less noticeable and the board was calm and damp. Literally the opposite of the last 15 Burton boards I’ve tried."

Im considering a Gril Master for this season. Can anyone comment if it feels big or small for its size? Im thinkin the 160 might be the better option for me.

I'm on the fence on just picking it up (big boy 165). Haven't ridden it, but given what the internet has said...I'm definitely interested. Not often do you see specs like this for other B boards. Last time I considered FT was the Moonbuggy but kinda glad I didn't get that given its somewhat "limited" use case.

Yeah, it sounds like a really fun board! I love freeride shapes with more playful flex patterns. To have that and it still be damp sounds perfect. Think it could really be a one board travel quiver for me.

Moonbuggy wasn't too limited, but I thought the nose was kinda soft and bouncy. This makes it nice for carving, but an excellent nosediver. Maybe if I was able to set it back more, I would like it better, but overall not that bad.
