ISO a new jacket and would appreciate the ezloungin collectives help on narrowing my options. Current jacket is an old 32 shred & destroy held together with repair patches.

New jacket reqs:
goretex 2l or equivalent
shell only
wrist gaiters
intuitive pocket placement; Ex: pass pocket
Relaxed fit

Was gonna say the Cyclic but it doesn't have wrist gaiters, so my pick would be the 686 GT shell: https://www.686.com/products/686-mens-g ... -gt-jacket

It's gonna have some better colors next season, too. The fit is on point, one of the better fitting 686 jackets (longer and relaxed but not overly wide) and the 2L gore-tex fabric it has is super durable (first hand experience). Very well thought out pockets, including the sleeve pass pocket with pass clip and the giant chest pocket that makes it super easy to grab your phone. The models aren't using the wrist gaiters, but it does have them.

I'm a fan of my Volcom L Gore Tex, no wrist gaiters though.

I think the Melancon pants have a drawstring at the hem so you can run them either/or.

They do, and so does the stone gore pant. I guess I should have specifically said "in brown," hah. The drawstring seems nice. I'd probably just lightly cinch them so heels don't drag.

I've looked at the military Melancon a bunch of times. Not sure on sizing - I wear men's L and the chart suggests an XL is smaller, but I don't know if it's the generic women's chart

@eleveneightnate Sounds like its 686 then for next year. Volcom had my eye, but I missed my chance when they had wrist gaiters in all their jackets.

Thank you gents.

I have a 2L gore text Pagatognia shell (Departer) that meets all your requirements (wrist gaiters, pass pocket, relaxed fit) – but it was a previous seasons... I like it more than my 2L AK jacket

their current 2L gore tex is close, but no wrist gaiters, but 50% off
