Not new, but @pow_hnd's photos of the Vans Verse Range back strap above inspired me to try this with my K2 Aspects.

I've always hated how these things feel on heelside because the neoprene section for stride length. They also felt a little sloppy. This makes the fit feel much more secure.

I... don't know when I'll actually get to try these with the due date so soon, but I'm hoping I can get at least ONE day out on the split this year.

Been getting rid of more than I've picked up. Basically swapped my 420 for this Psychocandy, which I'm hoping will be my deeper days dingleberry damager. Got another backseat driver to try and spread the joys of pow surfing with a couple old skater friends and see if they feel the rhythm of the night.

i’ve alllmost picked up a backseat driver a few times, but I remembered my old Lib DIY has some edges I could trim down.

basically taking that shape plus a little more moon tail. keeping the dakine surf pad under the rear foot, and mimicking the stud pattern for the front.

before I picked this up I looked at grabbing a backyard or a diy bc they're stiffer and for the potential to make a split surfer, but the deal I got on this vs. those other options was almost the same price. I'm not sure if the backseat is too light and soft to make a split but I might eventually fuck around and find out. I've already tried to get B to sell me another set of these grip nipples if I do because I'll need to rearrange the footing a bunch.

But yeah, an modded lib DIY would be damn good and just as fun I'm sure. Fingers crossed for so much good light fluffy shit this winter.

You will need them anyway, since they get lost easily. At least I have lost almost half of the nipples in couple years. I might also try something else under foot.

Otherwise I’ve been pretty happy with the Backseat Driver.

Do bindings go in the backpack on descent in this case?

I snagged a Burton pow wrench 141 to use as a DIY pow surfer, bought some surf traction pads to stick on it

they do sell “Surf Studs” which i’m 99% sure is just a bigger pack of these:
https://www.burton.com/us/en/p/aluminum ... 07981.html

which is what I’m using (they come in gold 👀). was a little torn on using the Union studs to show some love, but we get these gold studs cheap enough i can buy three sets off B for the same price as two U.
