setback inserts are really just a marketing thing, imo, and not actually used.
I'd imagine all of us here have a dedicated board for when it gets deep.
maybe it was designed for the person buying the Cadet/Horizon as their one board quiver. Like I'll usually fly out west with at least 2 boards packed (resort, pow), but last trip I just flew with my Cadet thinking id use the setbacks if I needed to
Yes has these setback inserts on a few of their boards (Standard, Pyzel)
most boards have what, 6 rows of inserts?, I do have one board that has 8 (and the last row is marked as 'pow stance')
I've definitely set my stance back for a (midwest) pow day on my Horizon (and other boards in the past), but didn't come close to needing the "pow inserts". I also run mini-discs on that board, so couldn't if I wanted to.
I believe my Salomon HPS Taka has that 8 pack that's offset further back, and even has two reference stances marked, one standard & one powder, and that still leaves at least one set of inserts behind it for adjusting to your stance width. that's the probably the best iteration of pow inserts.
Tomorrow's ride, new cadet 62. Zoe's boyfriend brought it, and he's going to try my new TF.
Feels a bit stiffer than my 2019, which is the right direction for my taste
A friend of the US guys I know said "the carbon layup on the European built board is considerably wider than on the A11X cores from GP87. I think they're more stable now at high speed"
