I tried on my friend's and also found that a little weird while wearing it. Seems super minimal, but I can also see how it would make noise. He's never mentioned anything, but who knows.

I've always wanted to get a 3L Beast jacket and they are often half price or even less over summer. The main pockets also being vents has put me off. Like maybe I want access to pockets without letting all the warmth out. Could be a non-issue that exists entirely in my head of course.

That stuff is expensive but really well built with a lot of thoughtful design details. Little stuff like slanted cuffs, longer cut in the back, big chest pockets for skins.

Love that also focus on simple bright colors. I get annoyed how subdued a lot of outerwear is these days, particularly stuff designed for backcountry. I want to be borderline high-vis in the trees or dealing with white outs.

The fit is super Euro slim though. Large fits me perfect in shoulders, chest, and sleeves, but tight around the hips and badadonkadonk. XL I’m swimming in the upper and just barely enough clearance in the seat. Great fit if you’re tall and slim.
Well everything is expensive in Norway.

Soft goods actually don’t seem that bad, relatively. Still expensive, but between exchange rate + VAT tourist refund + no sales tax I’d save about 25% off total purchase price on a jacket buying in California. Thinking of picking up some merino base layers while I’m over here.

Everything else in Norway is indeed stupid expensive. Not too many places in the world give me sticker shock coming from San Francisco, but in past couple days I paid equivalent of $35 for a <10 minute taxi ride and $9 for a slice of apple pie.
