New TF is totally a keeper. Definitely agree with other people I talked to, in that if there's a flex difference, I can't tell. Feels plenty stout for the type of board it is, and lives inside my preference range. Fun stiffer medium. Tail is nicely solid for stability/power.. arguably a hair more than the OG, but I'll have to do some testing back & forth. Confident ride. I suppose the main difference is simply what you can deduce from the changes they made. Just feels more like a traditional modern directional daily driver, rather than a little more backseat & tapered. More natural riding backward & so on. Feels really stabile on edge, and very smooth, like they all do. I do like taper and the 31MM models still feel great, but I generally like a milder amount, particularly for fast/deep carving. The temperament is slightly different in that regard, for me in a good way. Setback feels perfect, keeping in mind I'm going by center of insert packs, rather than the Xs that are slightly forward of that. Really happy with how these two boards perform as a simple quiver, for my approach. What's next? Pencil, dart, a split....

Another day on the CR. Much better groomers, and blower pow pockets.

I guess we established this isn't an early one that may have been more "dead" or whatever, but it definitely has a less energetic vibe. I tend to like that. It feels more meaty, and it's just calm about everything it does. Pretty stout flex on snow. Both transition finders, within still being damp and smooth boards, just have a vibe to them that promotes a little more action from the rider. I enjoy having both, a lot.

Thinking TF is the DD, and can do anything. Will pull out the CR whenever I feel like it, but thinking it's going to fit the bill for great carving days, and deep snow. Can ride either for everything, which is nice. Can't leave the cheater & hammerhead behind, but these could be a perfect quiver of two, for my taste.

TF today. I think I'm calling it - I like the new one a little more. Would be sick to have another shape with this platform.

I kinda feel like I can carve better on it than the CR, and the original. I wonder if it has to do with my preference for not so much taper.

Hard to say on flex... it's basically the same, but my on-snow experience has me leaning toward the new one feeling a little more stout, actually. Could just be that it's brand new

Both of them have really fun pop. Feels like I can spring well.

The board just feels really nice under foot. Fear not of the china production. Still haven't been able to confirm if it's GP87 or not.

Dare I say new favorite DD? Gotta hop back on the orbit at some point, but...

Broken record already, but gotta punch it in. Updated TF is my new favorite snowboard. It just hits the right way, for everything.

@Spenser you wrote somewhere that the Tranny reminds you of the feelings you had on the fish ( I'm an old school fish lover, actually this year I've rode mainly my 2008 ltd) but it's just related to the experience, the feeling, or in fact the board itself reminds you the fish?

More about the experience, not the exact way the board feels. I would only compare the original transition finder shape with 31mm taper, and the full camber fish (2002-2008 with 3D hole pattern), maybe also the 2012 & 2013 which were mostly camber, just some early rise on the nose. They each have their own feel to the ride, but there are some similarities in the experience, especially if you set the stance forward on the fish so you have more tail. Good camber grip, stability on edge and at speed, but because of the overall shape, they really like to slash around and have fun. Obviously both really good in powder too, with the big floaty nose and slashy tail.

I think that for people who know how good the fish can be in all conditions, they would have fun on the older transition finder. I wouldn't say it's a "replacement" for the fish, though. You could also go with the dart with the powder experience in mind. After all, Mu brought inspiration from the fish when they started korua...

If you don't like wider boards, it may feel weird to get on the 269mm waist of the 57, but the 54 might feel familiar. The fish has a much narrower feel than korua in general.
