Re: The Step On thread

So if "some sloppines" is the only problem, I recommend to try to add some forward lean. If you’re responding to me, I wrote a whole wall of text after that sentence with other reasons why I didn’t like them. You StepOn bros are gettin all defensive with your eye roll emojis and sa...

Re: The Step On thread

For me Step Ons does not work at all without forward lean, but I can ride normal bindings without forward lean just fine. There is some sloppiness without forward lean. It is not a problem for me, as I prefer forward lean to be maxed out anyway. So if "some sloppines" is the only problem, ...

Re: The Step On thread

I guess exactly the same can be said other way around, if someone started snowboarding 6 years ago with Step Ons and tried conventional binding first time now. ;) For me Step Ons are not about fast entry / release, but about better boot to board interface. So I have absolutely no interest in any oth...

Re: The Wax and Tune Ya Goon Thread

Okay, so... stop saying pores? Just call it what it is - structure. The problem with bases is that the term "structure" is used to call base finishing with grinding and not properties of material to have pores to contain wax. Extruded and sintered bases can have same base structure (finis...

Re: The Official Mervin Manufacturing Thread

Where do you get 121 from? I don't not-believe you, but they are not providing that number. Actual measurement? And how so? - a big nerd Looking at board's shape on picture this seem plausible to me, although contact points seem to be extremely mellow, so by changing EE definition you can get very ...

Re: The Step On thread

I loved normal Genesis bindings (before switching to step ons), for me it is all about locking boot's heel into grippy hammock to increase responsiveness and this makes no sense in step ons, as heel is already fully locked, so I never wanted Genesis Step Ons. This video confirms my thoughts. :)

Re: The Official Mervin Manufacturing Thread

The dip just makes it slightly easier to flex the board in the middle and a little quicker to engage the full edge. It’s why the Banked feels mellower than it actually is. The 159 has an EE of 120 by my measurement. I’ve got a Lib Rig 159 in the post so I’ll measure that too. My guess is it will be...

Re: OUTERWEAR

longos are good but beyond medals park pants are pretty nice too, they have gaitors but just dont use them. Thank you for good tip, and available in Finland, although still 2h drive from me. :) Bought this seasons high end black AK bibs with elastic cuffs. Seems that this trend is growing, several ...
