smith makes a light brown tint that almost looks clear - really like them for low light. the yellow/pink ones always looked off to me.

Hertel seems to work for this. Make sure the wax/board isn’t cold. It’s not that hard. Use a cork or fiber pad after to rub it in. Then I brush. I do it maybe every other time I ride. Takes about 5 min.

Agree, the footbeds are really solid. They do have some different models - including one that's just kind of foam. The thinner version of the Cush is my favorite. Great arch support and nice dense rubbery feel all over.
