Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread

Don't really know the context there, but having contact points past the widest point is bad at least, essentially unrideable (on hardpack). Some carving boards don't end the sidecut until way up in the nose, and flat boards work fine. Depends more on flex and tip/tail length. Maybe more like, keep ...

Re: OUTERWEAR

BD dirt bags are my go-to now

Mine are still untested, because those seems to be very warm and we did not have very cold weather this season. :)

But I have seen people in Alps with electric warming gloves switched on in very warm weather for myself.

That could be Raynauds I guess ...

Re: BINDINGS

You can feel there's some forward lean on Ultra. I prefer no forward lean and a stiffer highback. Don't feel like the base on Ultras is that soft, but you can feel a little tilt. The big difference on Strata is canting.

Re: The boot thread

Maybe the new Unions would work, who knows? Salomon seems more true to size because I'm just under 275, and use a 9.5 in those, but 10 in alot of other wides. For something stiffer than Dialogue, 32 TM2 (Boa) wides in a 10 would work, almost twice as stiff, but not Driver X stiff. Some say Vans, but ...

Re: BINDINGS

A Japanese vid said something about the new bushing being more like the contact pro. Can't tell you what that means though (and catalog doesn't provide much info).

The Contact Pro was suuuuper soft, so maybe that's it. Hope they don't go overboard with it, I like its current balance of ...

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26

Workers buy and pack all the supplies/food they need in their country, work 4-6 weeks in a more expensive country, often two full time jobs in shifts if they can swing it, then home for 2-3 weeks, rince repeat. Free supply of energy drinks from employer, or deducted from pay.

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26

Didn't Mothership rise from the old Elan factory anyways? Slovenian brand with factory in Austria. There are Slovenian workers in lots of industries in Austria and Italy, as there are Poles, Slovaks and Hungarians in some other EU countries with higher wages.

In tax paradises like switzerland you can have several PE on top of privately owned brands, and never have to disclose that information.

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26

Does look like they completely cut the Asia/Downunder team/market, kind of a big hit, and with that "surf focus" I guess, clashed with Nideckers line.
