Holy shit, I thought it was just me. I wanted to like that board so badly but sold it after a season.

Re: The Pack and Vest Thread

I have the Dakine heli vest (non airbag compatible) and I use it for days I'll be out longer, days I'm with a large crew (beers and snacks) or days where I think I might need avy gear inbounds/sidecountry. It's burly but I love it and I've rarely even notice it's there.

They don't make the damn ...

Re: Captians log...

Bristol is the one I never went to despite it being the highest vertical in the area. I have no idea what shape KB is in now but it was the shit back then.

I love Ellicottville and I agree on the Boardroom. I know the family that owns it in a roundabout way (buddy dated their daughter for a long ...

Re: Captians log...

Day 11. Ditched work and me and the wife hit the local here in western NY for some bluebird slush laps. When I dropped my board on the snow to get in line I realized I forgot to put the baseplate covers back in my bindings after waxing the other night. It also meant I didn’t tighten the bindings ...

Re: Tahoe

As someone who has spent 5 days there in my entire life, I think I'm a bit of an expert. Maybe it was the conditions and gondola being shut down but I definitely preferred the OV side. The runs we did felt more sustained or easily lap-able and we waited 15 mins maybe twice. I didn't ride the Scott ...

Re: Tahoe

kimchi They're all very solid skiers but honestly Thurs AM is probably going to be a shitshow. There's 20+ of us, the majority coming from sea level, and they're probably going to want to stick together somehow. I might be able to break off around lunch or in the afternoon but the morning isn't ...

Re: Tahoe

Like Kimchi mentioned, Le Chamois is the quintessential apres spot in the village, especially on a sunny/warm day. The Slot Bar is also an option, but more of a dive-bar vibe than anything. KT Base Bar/Plaza Bar (right underneath the Funi) are also good options if the weather is nice and you want ...

Re: Tahoe

@jkor This mid-week storm kinda came out of nowhere, should be a nice fun refresh and not enough snow to significantly impact mountain ops.

I would seriously consider making plans to extend your stay. Don't know where you're flying out of, but the Monday 19th is going to be a SHITTY travel day ...

Thanks. Looks like we'll get snow, rain and everything in between.

One last question. What are the best happy hour spots in the village? I've done exactly 0 research on that part.
